You will be able to talk about actions happening right now or around the present moment in your workplace.
The Present Continuous is a tense that describes an action that is happening now, at this moment. We form it with the verb to be in the present tense plus the base verb with -ing. We use it for temporary situations, ongoing actions, or plans that are already arranged.
James is writing an email to the client at this moment.
Aisha is working from home this week because the office is being renovated.
We are developing a new product for the market.
Sarah is meeting the supplier at 3 p.m. this afternoon.
Oliver is travelling to Manchester every Monday for meetings.
Daniel is preparing the quarterly report.
Priya is not answering the phone at the moment.
Short form: Priya isn't answering the phone at the moment.
Is Emma attending the budget meeting today?
Are the team not finishing the project by Friday?
Short form: Aren't the team finishing the project by Friday?
Common mistake. Do not forget the -ing ending on the main verb. Many learners write I am send instead of I am sending. Remember that only the main verb takes -ing, not the auxiliary verb to be.
