You will be able to talk about habits, routines, facts and permanent situations in English business life.
The Present Simple is the most common tense in English. We use it to describe actions that happen regularly, facts that are always true, or situations that do not change. In business, we use the Present Simple to talk about what we do, what our company does, and what happens every day.
James arrives at the office at 9 am every morning.
Our company manufactures office furniture in Manchester.
The finance team manages all invoices and payments.
The monthly meeting takes place on the third Tuesday of each month.
You send the report to the manager before the deadline.
Sarah writes emails to clients every morning.
The team does not work on Saturdays.
Short form: The team doesn't work on Saturdays.
Does Oliver send the invoice today?
Does the manager not approve the budget every month?
Short form: Doesn't the manager approve the budget every month?
Common mistake. Many learners forget to add the letter s to the verb when the subject is he, she, it or a singular noun. Remember: I work, you work, we work, they work, but he works, she works, it works, and Sarah works. Always check the subject before you write the verb.
